춤에 있어 <입춤>이란 마음을 가다듬어 가슴 깊은 곳에서부터 은은하게 우러나오는 감성을 육신을 통하여 무원과 무맥을 풀어내는 춤으로 궁중정재의 절제된 품위와 서민의 소탈한 마음의 조화를 함께 간직한 우리춤의 원초적 춤사위로 옛날 권번이나 무용연구소에서 기본춤으로 정하는 춤 세계 입문의 춤이라 할 수 있는 춤이다.
