공공부문의 연구자와 실무자는 의사결정, 상황판단, 인과관계의 분석 등을 위해서 양적 자료의 통계학적 분석과 해석의 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 과목에서는 통계학의 기초 이론을 습득할 기회를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 이를 구체화하고 실행하기 위한 SPSS 통계프로그램의 실습도 포함한다.

In the public sector, many researchers and practitioners have emphasized the importance of statistical analyses and interpretations to conducting decision making, situational judgement, and causal relationships among variables. This class offers opportunities to conducting SPSS program to analyze the statistical problems, as well as provides the basic theoretical backgrounds of statistics.
