소비자보호와 소비자교육을 위한 기초로서 소비자행동과 심리를 연구한다. 소비자의 구매 과정에서 다양한 주제들을 학제적 접근을 통해 이해한다. 소비자 구매의사결정과 정보처리과정을 사회·심리적 모델을 중심으로 분석하고, 이에 영향을 미치는 심리적, 사회적, 문화적 요인들을 검토한다.

This subject focuses on the understanding of consumer behavior & psychology to protect and educate consumers, how and why consumers make purchase decisions, how they think, feel and
act before, during and after the purchase. Also we will examine important concepts underlying consumer behavior and apply principles, and theories from the various social sciences.
